TRAVEL HIGHLIGHTS
We’ve enjoyed Germany (barefoot walking and open-air museums in the Black Forest), Denmark (for cool Viking museums, Hans Christian Anderson attractions and Legoland), UAE (for beaches, giant sand dunes and the magnificent Anantara Qasr Al-Sarab Hotel, which the whole family loved), and South Africa (for wildlife spotting).

ASIDE FROM ALL THE TIME WE HAVE SPENT PRE-COVID IN SPAIN (SUMMERS IN COSTA BRAVA, WINTERS IN BARCELONA) AND SKIING IN ANDORRA, WE PARTICULARLY ENJOYED OUR TRIPS TO MARGARET RIVER, NIKOI ISLAND AND PHUKET WITH FRIENDS WHO ALSO HAVE KIDS. ON OUR OWN, FAVOURITE FAMILY TRIPS HAVE INCLUDED TOKYO, HO CHI MINH CITY AND SIEM REAP. (AND BINTAN OFTEN TOO; IT’S SO PRACTICAL YET IT STILL FEELS LIKE A REAL GETAWAY!)

I think we have been quite adventurous with our travels, though of course there are other people who have done much more than us. When the girls were little, we enjoyed going to the Maldives, Australia and Denmark. Now that they are eight and 12, we can do even more cool travels like skiing in Japan and island hopping in Greece. Growing up as city girls in Singapore, they love the simple life when we go travelling: activities like fishing, exploring the forest in Denmark where I grew up, catching crabs and just doing lots of outdoor free stuff. I’VE ONLY DONE STAYCATIONS IN SINGAPORE – I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SHANGRILA!

WE LOVED ZAGREB IN CROATIA! NEW YORK IS ANOTHER FAVOURITE, AND WE ALSO LOVED PICKING APPLES IN CANADA.

WE LOVE BEACH HOLIDAYS AS THE WATER IS THE BEST WAY TO OCCUPY KIDS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY CAN SWIM. OUR FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATIONS ARE SRI LANKA, KOH SAMUI IN THAILAND, AND CON DAO IN VIETNAM.
