RULE THE WAVES
If you’re looking for the ultimate accessory, then nothing screams success like your own yacht. Of course, in the boat world, size is important and at 63-metres long, the new Utopia IV will certainly be turning heads in the ports this year.
Luxury on the high seas
Last November Rossinavi launched Utopia IV, a 63-metre luxury yacht commissioned by a private American client. The entirely custom designed boat was completed and launched for sea trials in March 2018, in Pisa, Italy and was officially unveiled to the public for the first time during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. With exterior and interiors fashioned by Venice-based Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design, the dynamic silhouette of Utopia IV has been inspired by contemporary automotive design. With its sharp lines and low profile on the water, the yacht is more reminiscent of a speedboat.
With a fast displacement and enduring hull, which ensures stability and comfortable sailing, Utopia IV is light, fast and powerful. She is fitted with four light Rolls Royce KaMeWa water-jets, the absolute excellence of propulsion of its kind, as well as four MTU 16V2000 M96L
engines, to guarantee a dynamic range of usage. This intelligent and unique combination of power means that the yacht can travel as efficiently at low speeds as it can at high speeds, with a top speed of 33 knots and an average cruising speed of 26 knots. Designed to be versatile, stable and powerful, Utopia IV is just as at home cruising the Caribbean and Mediterranean as it is sailing across the oceans in open sea.
“We wanted it to feel like a speedboat, with a minimum draft, efficient in its range of navigation, with intelligent propulsion and completely tailor-made. At the beginning of the design process, we had to consider the relationship between the engine horsepower necessary to achieve certain speeds and, of course, its weight. The overall balance is a particular feature of this boat, an interesting idea which makes Utopia IV unique.” Federico Rossi, COO of Rossinavi
Inside, Utopia IV has been optimised for comfort and style. Continuing the long lines of the exterior design, the interior is sophisticated, sleek and wide, with the capacity to sleep 12 across six spacious cabins. The forward facing and luxurious owner’s suite features a six-meter length fixed balcony and floor to ceiling glass windows that frame a 180-degree panoramic view. The master suite also includes a grand bathroom with wood panelling and marble, that boasts a double-shower and Jacuzzi bath.
Inside the main salon, Utopia IV’s lounge has two four-meter sliding glass doors that

open onto the deck and shroud the interior in natural light throughout the day. A rich wood-panelled partition wall separates the main living and dining spaces, while the main bar, at the rear of the yacht, opens directly onto the main deck for entertaining.
“The intent was to create a dynamic architecture that constantly seems in motion. The constant research for contact between interior and exterior areas is emphasized by the openings designed on hull and superstructure and the continuous window surfaces. The main salon benefits from floor-to-ceiling windows and the owner’s suite has a special feature: a starboard balcony of impressive dimensions that folds out into an above-water private terrace. This embodies an impressively spacious interior layout that includes five guest cabins.”
All fabrics and textiles on the yacht... are sourced from the finest high-end brands
The interior design of the yacht is a blend of minimalistic style and sophisticated Italian taste, characterized by prestigious natural materials and sober nuances. The lighting design has been specifically studied, to create settings that can enhance different indoor atmospheres and emphasize the space available.
All fabrics and textiles on the yacht have been carefully chosen to enhance the beauty of the design and are sourced from the finest highend brands.
On deck, the yacht is designed for entertaining, with a number of lounge and recreation areas including a large swimming pool, which sits on the main deck alongside a sun deck and sprawling outdoor lounge. Enrico Gobbi has also designed Utopia IV’s impressive 70 square meter beach club space, at the rear of the yacht, one of the boat’s leading features, which opens directly onto sea level. The 16-metre long fly deck has been lengthened without jeopardising the clean lines of the yacht’s design, and it serves as the perfect space for relaxing and entertaining.
