Summer may be drawing to a close but with COVID restrictio­ns lifted in the UK, the Isle of Wight’s top venue The Hut is officially open for its ninth season. Al fresco dining is back on the menu.

Nestled in the heart of Colwell Bay just a quick day-trip from London, The Hut has establishe­d itself as one of the UK’s most iconic coastal destinatio­ns, attracting locals, “yachties,” and city goers. Offering spectacula­r ocean views across the Solent and beach huts, The Hut invites a chic dining experience with an unrivalled passion for simple yet delicious seafood, all in a relaxed buzzy beachfront location.

This year, after a winter of renovation­s and the launch of a new rooftop bar, there’s also a new head chef – Ian Daw. Joining with more than two decades of experience in Michelin star restaurant­s (most recently Soho House’s

most ambitious venture, The Ned in London), Ian is already inspiring an eclectic menu. Signature dishes include: fruits de mer, serving fresh locally caught seafood and shellfish, sea bass with fregola, prawn tempura, pak choi, and coconut, as well as the daily catch fish tacos.

Owners & brother, George & Matt Adams: “We’re raring to go for another record breaking 2021. We’ve been busy over the winter renovating the site with a new rooftop bar to welcome guests a place to enjoy drinks. We’re delighted to be working with Ian and the team on our new menu. The bars are stocked, the rosé is on ice, and we’re looking forward to opening the doors, the windows, and the roof!”

When the sun comes out, the energy goes up again and thanks to an infinitely grazeable menu of surf and turf classics, rosé fuelled courses and one of the best sunsets to spot in the UK, The Hut at Colwell Bay creates the ultimate summer setting for a dining experience like no other.
