Sundial it down

In agrarian times, when grains were first sown and mankind turned from its nomadic lifestyle to a communal one, the sun was not merely the source of life and energy, but also the only way to keep track of the day. Sundials reflected the time clearly, to ensure that they would know when to leave the fields. The larger the sundial and the thinner the rod, the more precise the time.
