twelve years ago, the Year of the Dog didn’t seem to create as much fanfare as in 2018. From pooch-shaped pineapple tarts to shoes, handbags and outfits plastered with cute puppy motifs, everybody is jumping on the doggy bandwagon—not that we’re complaining. It only goes to show that the humble pooch has grown in popularity since 2006!
Chinese New Year is all about furmily, so we created a dog-friendly yu sheng—made using wholesome, delicious ingredients that you’ll also love—to usher in good health and prosperity for your paw-some pal (pg 12). Also, check out our spread of stylish doggy threads in this year’s lucky hues on pg 14. Chic and auspicious—what more could you ask for?
February is also the month of love, so we got ‘It’ couple of the moment, Shane Pow and Kimberly Wang, to show some PDA on our cover. It was effortless for the cute pair, who couldn’t keep their hands to themselves or stop making affectionate jibes at each other. Even Shane’s senior pup, Bebe, looked contented and blissful in the love-filled atmosphere. Unsurprisingly, the pooch adores Kimberly! Read their love story on pg 38.
True love goes beyond the wedding, so flip to pg 48 to read about couples who said ‘I do’ to their significant others—and the furkids that came with the marriage. We also shine the spotlight on the selfless angels of Mount Agung who made sure the furry residents there were well-taken care of, even as the angry volcano spewed smoke and ash into the air (pg 56).
