PG 80 HAPPENINGS
Over 30 impish Pomeranians attended our Breakfast & Breed event! Plus, pet events at CHIJMES and Pasir Ris Elias Community Centre.
It was fluff heaven at Ah B Cafe as over 30 feisty Pomeranians and their paw-rents attended our seventh Breakfast & Breed instalment. They gathered for a morning of mingling, tasty grub, educational talks, as well as live cooking and vacuum demos by Bosch Home Appliances. Each attendee received a Ritma Premier goodie bag containing Natural Core organic pet food (worth $73 each).
The live cooking demo was executed by cooking instructor Chia Wee Loon, who’s also known by his Instagram handle, Snowcology. Chia used Bosch’s induction stove and oven to whip up a wholesome dog-friendly dish—Broc-CauNut Salmon—which comprised broccoli puree, cauliflower puree, butternut puree and salmon, which all the pooches greedily devoured!
Paw-rents tucked into the buffet spread of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, ham and tarts prepared by Ah B Cafe, while furkids chose between freshly cooked salmon & pasta and lamb & pumpkin meat bowls, courtesy of Furry’s Kitchen.
During their mealtime, veterinarian Dr Heng Yirui from Amber Vet revealed common health issues faced by Pomeranians, such as skin conditions, luxating patella and collapsing trachea. Next, trainer Maureen Tay from
KasPup UniFURsity offered insight on how to handle fussy eaters and tips for conditioning this spunky pooch.
Demonstrating how to clean up after this heavily shedding breed was Joey Piyong, Bosch’s marketing communications manager, who conducted a vacuum demo using their cordless handstick Zoo’o ProAnimal vacuum cleaner. Walking away with the title of
Best Hair and also the Zoo’o ProAnimal vacuum cleaner (worth $799) was threeyear-old Hachi. “We’re really excited about winning this prize because Hachi sheds a
lot, and our room has a lot of fabric so we always need to clean up the fur everywhere,” says his paw-rent, Amanda Lee.
Lucky draw winner Sabrina Soh won a $100 Serenity Spanish Bar & Restaurant dining voucher. Sabrina shares: “My husband Admond and I really enjoyed today’s event. It’s the first time we’re participating because it’s breedbased, which is why I brought my Pom, Luffy. He totally enjoyed the food because he finished his entire meal within 30 seconds!”
