EASTERN PRIVILEGE
With a portfolio of luxury properties in the Nassim area, UOL Group and Kheng Leong Company set their eye on the East Coast with a plan to build a new and exclusive enclave
The eastern part of Singapore has kept its unique appeal for decades. A long-standing seaside haven for wealthy families, it has developed into a community where gracious living translates to comfortable yet sophisticated luxury. Following a spate of developments in the area, which has produced a mix of massive high-rise condominiums towering above low-rise apartments, bungalows and rows of conservation shophouses, the housing options eventually thinned out. Despite this, the area has remained a desirable address that is now surrounded and serviced by commercial establishments, public facilities, and lifestyle attractions. With Meyer House, the new development from UOL Group and Kheng Leong Company, the east is once again anticipated to go on an upswing.
With an ‘island-site’ location along Meyer Road in the Marine Parade/ Katong area, Meyer House raises the standard of luxury living in the East Coast. The low-density, five-storey development comprises only 56 large-format units, bringing luxurious environment in ample space to buyers. Imagined to be the ‘Nassim of the East’, the new development brings exclusivity and privacy eastward – a feat that UOL/Kheng Leong is well-positioned to achieve given their track record with the famed Nassim Park Residences and The Nassim.
Private lifts, each serving only one unit, take Meyer House residents directly from the lobby entrance to their apartments – a first in Singapore’s luxury residential development. The freehold development offers three- and fourbedroom apartments, in addition to six penthouses; these range in size from 1,862 square-feet for three-bedroom units to 2,820 square-feet for the fourbedroom units, and 5,587 square-feet for the penthouses. Every apartment is decked out in quality finishes.
The Best Creative Minds
Award-winning firm WOHA Architects has been commissioned to design Meyer House. With past credits that
include PARKROYAL@Pickering, WOHA delivers its trademark blending of architecture and green spaces.
Working with WOHA on Meyer House are two other renowned international design firms, Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl (RSD) and Yabu Pushelberg.
Founded in Denmark, and with office in Singapore, Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl has established itself as a leading engineering, design and consultancy firm. RSD will also redevelop the adjacent Meyer Park to offer the neighborhood a seamless integration of lushness from external to internal.
Among the development’s centerpieces is the landscape as it is expressed in a diverse repertoire of landscape habitats spread across undulating grounds. RSD worked closely with the designers to develop a garden that supports the vision and objectives of the built spaces.
Meanwhile, the award-winning design practice based in New York and Toronto, Yabu Pushelberg ventures into the high-end residential segment in Singapore for the first time. For Meyer House, Yabu Pushelberg creates living spaces with subtle touches of luxury. This is articulated in the generous living spaces, fully functional back of house with ample storage space, and functional balconies that can be transformed to be part of your private internal space with the provision of double-layered motorized blinds.
Meyer House is bringing a modern vision of luxury residential space in Singapore. Its desirable location is highlighted by the expressive design of both its built and open spaces. And with only a limited number of dwellings within the entire development, it makes an excellent case for privacy and exclusivity that no other developer can equal at the moment.
