VILLA WITHEASE
Award-winning fully integrated development company, Selo Group, has launched pre-crafted designer villas suited to sustainable and costeffective real estate in Indonesia. The pre-crafted villas offer panoramic views through floor-toceiling windows, an open layout with a private pool and deck, kitchenette, and expansive living spaces. Sizes and configurations include studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom villas.
Buyers can log on to Selo Group’s pre-crafted villa website where they can select their preferred villa type, choose manufacturing upgrades and add-ons, and then pick an assembly option. They can then add the villa design to their shopping cart and submit the order. A Selo Group representative will process the order and work with the buyers to customize the villa.
Sustainability and environment preservation form the core of the development process, from construction to delivery and beyond. Building the projects off-site inside a custom facility eliminates exposure to the elements and minimizes construction waste. Limiting the time and activity on-site also reduces the environmental impact of the building process. With materials manufactured in advance, the pre-crafted villas take only a couple weeks onwards, depending on the location. Any excess materials are recycled inhouse instead of sending them to a landfill.
Located in a 1978 hotel building in Datong District, Taiwan City, Play Design Salon encompasses a private museum and an events venue (another establishment, Play Design Hostel, is upstairs). Designed by Ting-Han Daniel Chen, founder of Play Design Lab, it provides a glimpse of ‘Taiwan design’ through a carefully calibrated juxtaposition of vintage and contemporary objects.
Tables, chairs, decoration and functional objects from 1978 – the year the building was built — are mixed with their contemporary counterparts. The intentional design of the place appears natural, even haphazard, much like how ephemera naturally collects in any home.
Play Design Salon occupies the former residence of the owner of Hetai Hotel, a space of about 40sqm with original features, including crystal chandeliers, parquet floor tiles, and wooden archways intact and mixed with contemporary Taiwanese designer furniture and home accessories.
