Think about your mobile device.

You take pictures with it, do your internet banking on it, trade stocks and shares with it, and read personal and work emails on it. You use it to pay bills, do a lot of online shopping, get the latest news, speak to almost everyone and share documents and pictures on it via instant messaging apps, or make your voice heard through it on social media apps.

And moving forward, in Singapore, your government related and banking information will all be lined at one place. Your whole life is pretty much tied to your mobile device.

And while your entire world is conveniently in the palm of your hand, so is your digital footprint.

Banking, social media, online shopping, and instant messenger passwords are one thing to contend with. But personal pictures, confidential messages and work emails containing sensitive information are just part of the vast amount of data in our phones ripe for the taking. In the wrong hands, it could turn your world upside down.

Imagine if your mobile phone is hacked.

You hear about it, read about it, but it could never happen to you right? Wrong.

Mobile phones or mobile endpoints, as it’s referred to in cybersecurity terms, are probably the least protected in the entire cyber eco-system. And that’s where hackers have a field day.

You could be using your Wi-Fi at the airport, at home, or responding to an instant message and that single event could lead to a cyberattack you won’t even know about until it’s too late.

So, you need to protect what matters to you. You insure your life, your house, your car, some even insure their bicycles, and mobile devices. But for everything else the mobile device gives access to, everyone neglects it.

If you could protect your mobile device for the price of a cup of coffee a month, wouldn’t you? Because the fact is, you’re not locking your phone up, you’re locking malicious hackers out from having free access to everything that matters in your life.

After all, it’s not worth losing your life through your mobile phone is it?

Mobile Threat Defense — isn’t that worth the price of a cuppa?
