THE CHEF SERIES AT THE DATAI LANGKAWI
The Datai Langkawi presents The Chef Series, which is a signature dining experience that brings culinary luminaries and Michelin-starred chefs from around the world for the pleasure of its guests.
For 2022, it’s all about ‘Eclectic Malaysia’, where the luxury resort shines the spotlight on local talent. It presents six local and international chefs, all with restaurants in Malaysia, reflecting the diversity of cuisines and cultures that the country is famous for. These chefs include Chef Johnson Wong of Gēn Restaurant in Penang, Chef Azli Ahmad from OpenHouse in Kuala Lumpur, as well as Chef Lee Zhe Xi and Chef Soh Yong Zhi from Eat and Cook in Kuala Lumpur, whose residence will be from 6-7 October.
If Chef Raymond Tham’s (of Beta and Skillet in Kuala Lumpur) session in June was anything to go by, the last one for the year should not be missed. Chef Tham’s menu was an inventive take on Malaysian cuisine, where he took familiar flavor elements and pushed boundaries with creativity and innovation, reinterpreting traditional snacks and local produce into fine dining masterpieces.
