Captain Gervase William Heaton’s Distinguished service order Medal Group

A group of 10 medals earned across both World Wars, awarded to Captain Gervase William Heaton of the Royal Navy, will be on sale by Spink USA. Part of the Numismatic Collector’s Series auction, the medals were given in recognition of the captain’s commitment to his country during his service. Heaton’s combination of accolades is considered rare, with one of the medals being one of only 37 awarded to the Royal Navy during the war. The collection is estimated to go under the hammer for US$5,000-$7,000.
