TRUE COLOURS

With its latest sapphirefocused jewellery collection, Moussaieff has proven its unparalleled expertise in rare and exquisite coloured gemstones

-

MOUSSAIEFF OPENED ITS boutique in London in 1963 and owners Alisa and Shlomo Moussaie have since built a prestigious international clientele and a worldwide reputation for sumptuously glamorous jewels, created from the rarest, most coveted, and most beautiful of diamonds, pearls and coloured gems.

The family-owned jewellery brand has again demonstrated its prowess in acquiring extraordinary gemstones and presenting them at their best, with its recently unveiled collection featuring exceptional purple sapphires and pink sapphires. Aptly named Coloured Roses In Full Bloom, it is mesmeric in its joyous purple and pink colour palette, the size and rarity of the gemstones, and the brilliantly creative design. The collection was launched on the opening day of this year’s Masterpiece London fair, to celebrate the diversity of colour in sapphires and the enormous design potential.

Comprising seven pieces, the jewellery merges avant-garde and light-hearted playfulness. Among the items is a pair of white gold chandelier earrings bearing 70ct of stunning noheat natural purple sapphires, suspended in a feat of expert craftsmanship on diamond pavé arabesques so that they gently move with the wearer’s gait, adding a dash of high glamour to any ensemble.

Ever sensitive to the needs of modern women, Alisa Moussaie , the House’s creative mastermind, has also designed a pair of matching statement earrings and an invisibly set “carpet” bracelet to be worn for evening glamour. Both jewels boast a vivid range of exceptional pink, purplish pink and purple sapphires. The floral “daisy” motif that runs through both jewels, composed of quintets of marquise-cut diamonds and surrounded by diamond pavé, is a light-hearted, playful but deeply feminine symbol characteristic of Mrs Moussaie ’s designs.

Never one to shy away from colour, and instead eager to embrace it for all its energy, glamour and charm, Mrs Moussaie has applied her artistic vision to the subtle tones of pink and purple in these rare sapphires, and set them against sophisticated white diamonds for prominence. The overall e ect is utterly spellbinding and seductive. But her expertise doesn’t lie only with coloured gemstones. When it comes to white diamonds, she applies the same keen eye for quality and style. Moussaie unveiled wedding jewellery parures in May, with society darling Samantha Wijaya, a friend of the brand, as the face of its bridal campaign.

To truly understand Mrs Moussaie ’s expert eye is to take a trip to the brand’s new showroom in Hong Kong or its London New Bond Street flagship boutique. It takes a personal visit to admire such exquisite gemstones in all their glory. Landmark, 4208 Gloucester Tower, 11 Pedder Street, Central, Hong Kong; Tel: (852) 2110 2232; info@moussaie€.com.hk;
