HAIR AFFAIR
Hair is unique to everyone, and it is a reflection of our identity
there is a saying that hair doesn’t make the woman but good hair definitely helps. And Leonica Kei from Leonica K Trichology will agree with the statement.
As the founder and principal trichologist, Kei graduated from the Institute of Trichologists ( UK) in 1994. She is also an international affiliate member of the institute. Kei has been in the industry for more than 20 years, and is recognised as a specialist in this field. Case in point: She consults as an expert witness in arbitration cases involving hair and scalp matters and is often invited to share her expertise in magazines, newspapers and TV programmes.
Her salon offers several hair and scalp treatments. These include addressing female hair loss, male pattern hair loss, alopecia areata (spot baldness), stress- induced hair loss, scalp disorder, post- partum hair loss as well as hair repair and restoration.
Kei is also involved in research to develop effective products, working with a team of scientists and trichologists for new products. She prefers the hands-on approach by personally testing products before launching them to end-users. The company also uses mainly natural and botanical ingredients.
“We have just launched our new range of retail products. The right products can keep your hair clean and helps protect your scalp against irritation, thus strengthening hair roots and preventing hair loss,” Kei emphasises.
The range consists of six shampoos, a conditioner, a mask and three scalp and hair tonics. Three key products Kei recommends are the Peppermint shampoo, Elastin conditioner and
Ultimate hair mask.
The Peppermint shampoo is a formula that refreshes. Packed with antioxidants, it keeps the scalp clean while a reinvigorating minty scent gives an uplifting sensation. Frequent use helps to strengthen hair roots, reduce excessive hair fall and boost healthy hair growth.
The Elastin conditioner contains humectants and is rich in oils. The
formula is blended with organic oils, proteins and vitamins to leave hair shiny and silky. It also improves the elasticity of hair. Kei recommends using it for a month for the hair texture to show improvement.
The Ultimate hair mask is a superb pre-shampoo treatment cream that allows for deep penetration and repair. It is particularly effective on extremely dry and damaged hair. This luxurious cream is specially infused with African Red Tea, shea butter, rich base oils (avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oil and lanolin), active proteins (Keravis and wheat amino acids) and vitamin E.
“This range of products is produced by trichologists who really understand all the hair and scalp needs and it delivers results,” Kei stresses. To address specific hair and scalp conditions, it is best to consult a trichologist for a personalised professional consultation.
