Volkswagen’s newest, Arteon is a gran turismo that delivers the performance of a dynamic car with the comfort and space of a luxury sedan. This four-door saloon features a sleeker, swoopier silhouette than other VW models — with a long wheelbase, stretched roofline and coupe-style design. Sharp bonnet lines over the wheel bestow a low, sporty character, while the radiator grille exudes a dynamic profile.

Under the hood, meanwhile, its 2-litre TSI engine has enough turbo power to complete the 100- km dash in 5.6 seconds. Maximum output is at 280 horses while torque is at 350Nm. The car has a 4Motion permanent all-wheel drive system, a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and the latest Dynamic Chassis Control for a high-powered, high-stability and high-energy drive.

Designed for everyday, Arteon offers the volume of a business-class gran turismo, seating up to five adults. At the rear, it offers best-in-class legroom at 1,016mm and headroom at 940mm. Boot volume is generous at 563 litres, which expands to 1,557 litres with rear backrest folded down. Engineered for safety — it returned with commendable results during the Euro NCAP crash test — the coupe also offers Front Assist with City Emergency Brake, Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert, and the latest Proactive Occupant Protection System.
