Patek Philippe’s 2018 collection is a celebration of firsts for the brand, from never-before-seen debuts to iconic innovations
NEVER ONE TO slow down, Patek Philippe captures the essence of its technical breakthroughs in its Baselworld 2018 novelties. Lavishing this year’s collection are some new entries, such as Nautilus 5740, the debut grand complication in the sporty elegant Nautilus collection and the brand’s thinnest perpetual calendar. The watchmaker is also introducing the neverbeforeseen Aquanaut chronograph, Aquanaut 5968A, a fitting addition to the classically athletic collection. Also under the spotlight is the very first inhouse chronograph movement, which holds six patents and beats within the new Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 5270P, as well as the Annual Calendar 5205G. The latter features the brand’s annual calendar mechanism that was first patented in 1996. True to the Patek Philippe DNA, these watches all come with proprietary calibres.
