For Autumn/ Winter 2018, discreet luxury gives way to bursts of fun as Bottega Veneta embellishes the Cabat with 14 leather pom-poms in four dierent sizes. One Checker Cabat requires three days of work — including half a day to create and apply the pom-poms — by two artisans. Each pom-pom is fitted with a leather loop that is inserted into leather strips (called “fettuce”) during the weaving phase. Completing the luxurious unlined tote are the karung snake handles, while invisible magnets embedded within the leather lets you join the sides to ensure belongings are secure. Fewer than 10 Checker Cabats are available in Asia, and only one in Singapore.
