Out of This World!
Every Rice Ball is a wild and fun experience. Returning for its 17th edition this year, the event, held at the Island Ballroom in Shangri-la Hotel, Singapore, outdid itself with a Out Of This World theme, with guests turning up in eyepopping costumes, each more fantastical than the next. The sold-out event raised $1.275 million, of which $500,000 will go towards the building of Wild Rice’s new theatre, slated to open in September 2019 at the upcoming Funan lifestyle complex. The sum was raised in conjunction with the Plant A Seat appeal, which enables donors to name the custom-designed seats in the theatre. There are still limited seats available, at varying donation levels.
