Beyond the Stars
Kick sarcoma. That is the health initiative message from Sarah-grace Sarcoma Organisation Singapore, the organisation behind The Galaxy Ball: Beyond The Stars, a fund-raising event held at The St. Regis Singapore. Besides raising awareness about this rare cancer and the benefits of early diagnosis, the organisation supports artists and art as mediums to spread its message. The evening featured an auction that included Chanel items, travel experiences to Zimbabwe, Dordogne in southwest France and Bawah Island in Indonesia, and a home dinner for 10 prepared by Masterchef Roy Lim, as well as several works of art by Aphrodite Kyriazi, Skevi, Charles Chaya and Adeline Yeo, and two art pieces donated by Susan Nhema and Jacqueline Kelly. A special host, Sophia, who’s a humanoid robot, presented the Best Scientific Innovation award to Bamcoflor and the Humanitarian Of The Year award to Emma Oldager. The night raised $175,000.
