F.P. Journe Chronographe Monopoussoir Rattrapante barrelled past its starting bid of $50,000 to fetch an impressive $400,000 for The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s pro-environment efforts. Fitted with a manually wound split-second monopusher chronograph movement, the titanium-cased ticker shows off a blue dial, with oracle bone script numerals for indexes. The highly pictographic oracle bone script, the oldest known form of Chinese writing, was historically carved into bone and used as a medium to predict the future.
