The result is a brave and unconventional achievement of creating a building that lives and breathes.
Inspired by Singapore’s Garden City vision, the 22-storey freehold condominium marries architectural biophilia and a refined lifestyle. Heatherwick’s human-centric approach, as he explains, involves taking the best of our tropical environment and the qualities of living in colonial black-and-white bungalows, and bringing them indoors into a high-rise apartment. After five years of planning and construction, with more than 200 designers and craftsmen collaborating to pore over even the most minute details, an iconic residence is born. But where do we begin?
The building sits lightly on the ground, as if it’s held up by “blades” of grass. Each floor is a single 3,035 sq ft apartment with four en-suite bedrooms and a unique yet spacious floor plan. Cross-ventilation is excellent, thanks to windows and balconies offering 270-degree views. Speaking of balconies, they are cantilevered clamshells of hanging tropical foliage. The entire property boasts over 100 exotic plant species. The interiors feature the ultimate in luxury – with British oak floors in an exquisite herringbone pattern, cross-cut Jura limestone from Germany in the bathrooms, rare Carrara marble in the kitchen and more. 灵感来自新加坡“花园中的城市”愿景，22层楼的永久地契公寓，结合了亲生物主义建筑风格与精致生活方式。Heatherwick说他通过以人为本的手法，把热带环境的特色与殖民时期黑白屋的生活素质带入室内，在高楼公寓里呈现。耗时五年，集合200多名设计师与工匠的力量，不放过任何一个细节，精心打造出这座标志性住宅。
