An innovative combination of viscose and cotton raffia creates a rustic straw-like material that has a particular characteristic. Its highlight is the “grain of rice” visual effect, achieved by twisting the cotton yarn used on the warp (the rigid supporting threads that run the length of the fabric) in the wicker technique. A raffia-dyeing method produces an uneven mix of tones to further accentuate the material’s close resemblance to natural straw, while the slight swelling of the raffia fibres endows it with a rich appearance.
