When Christian Dior founded his maison, he chose the Medallion chair to seat guests at his fashion shows and it became an emblem of the brand. For the Salone del Mobile in Milan this September, the house of Dior invited 17 artists to reinterpret the iconic chair, including Chinese architect Ma Yansong, who took an innovative, futuristic approach. Recast in monochrome 3D-printed polyurethane, the chair, titled Meteor, appears to be caught in motion, as if it were travelling through time.
