Among her friends and family, Fanty Soenardy is known for being not just a talented home cook and baker, but also an incredibly generous one. Those lucky enough to have tasted her famous kueh lapis (including some members of the Prestige team) rave about it being the gold standard and she kindly shared her prized recipe for the delicacy with Prestige readers in our January 2022 issue. Knowing her way around the kitchen means Fanty is extra particular about the food when she eats out, so you know her recommendations – ranging from chic Parisian bistros (she loves the cassoulet at Benoit Paris) to local hawker food – can be relied on. At our shoot, she keeps the crew well-fed with bak chor beehoon specially ordered from a stall in Toa Payoh that her family, especially her son Dillon, favours.
