MADE TO TREASURE

-

Chanel elevates its dedication to preserving and perpetuating artisanal virtuosity with the new Métiers d’art Collector Box, a treasure chest that opens to reveal four magnificent mini iconic bags of the maison. Spotlighting the longtime creative allies Chanel and Maison Lesage’s combined savoir faire, the 2.55 is transformed into a showcase of exceptional embroidery. It takes 95 hours just to create the trompe l’oeil mesh effect. The Chanel Boy’s embroidery was inspired by the embellished straps of a dress from the Métiers d’art collection, while the extravagant belt of another dress is reinterpreted on the Chanel 19’s embroidery, evoking the new Rudy Ricciotti-designed le19m building, where the Métiers d’art show was staged. The building’s facade also appears on the sequin-heavy 11.12 – the most time-consuming of the four bags, which demanded 112 hours of embroidery work. The Métiers d’art Collector Box itself is no less luxurious. Dressed in quilted lambskin requiring 12 hours of craftsmanship, it is accompanied by a sophisticated key holder.
