LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

-

This Dragon Automaton is a unique collaboration between Jaquet Droz and John Howe, artistic designer for Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. It is probably one of the most complex modern automaton watches ever designed. It boasts nine animations, such as the undulation of the mythical beast’s spine, the opening and closing of its eye and jaw, and the rise and fall of its crest. Only unique orders are offered. The 43mm case can be finished in the gold of your choice, while the dial can be fully customised, engraved or replaced by a stone of your choice. Made of gold and engraved by hand, the dragon can have its scales more or less pronounced.

VERDANT EXPRESSIONS

Since the early 1960s, green has been an integral colour in Piaget’s creative palette – with the use of jade, jasper, malachite and emeralds to adorn its most sophisticated timepieces for men and women. The hue added a touch of audacity, and to this day, Piaget continues to find inspiration in it. Case in point: The vibrant shade features on two new 42mm models, the Piaget Polo Date and the steel Piaget Polo Skeleton. The rose gold case of the former contrasts perfectly against the green gadrooned dial, while the latter boasts green bridges that lend a new commanding aesthetic to the watch.

MINIMALIST BEAUTY

Equipped with the manufacture’s automatic HMC 804 calibre with a flying tourbillon, H. Moser & Cie.’s red gold Streamliner with an integrated bracelet owes its ultra-chic look to a striking Vantablack dial. The high contrast between both materials is further accentuated by red gold indices that are akin to rays of light piercing through the darkest substance in existence. As if floating in the middle of a black hole, the one-minute flying tourbillon positioned at 6 o’clock is the driving force behind the 40mm Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack.

NEW CONCEPT

Sincere Haute Horlogerie has relaunched under the new name SHH with a brand-new boutique at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Designed by top Singaporean interior designer Peter Tay, the boutique has been created as a sanctuary that celebrates independent watchmaking. Warm copper earth tones are set against reflective mirrored surfaces along the ceiling’s upper edges, creating an inviting yet sophisticated ambience. The space is divided into the main display area and a private lounge to host intimate gatherings or VIPS. Presently, 19 brands will be part of SHH’S launch, including Swiss manufacture Czapek & Cie and French watchmaker Louis Moinet, which make their local debut in the new boutique.

PERFECT PAIRING

Tag Heuer and Porsche have launched a luxury connected timepiece inspired by the design of the all-electric Porsche Taycan collection. The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 – Porsche Edition boasts exclusive Wear OS features for Porsche owners. Those with

a compatible Porsche model can connect their watch to their car and see information, such as car battery percentage, total mileage and more, displayed. Running a customised version of Google’s Wear OS system, the 45mm

smartwatch with a black titanium case offers a range of exclusive timers, as well as sport and wellness apps featuring

guided workouts.

Hautlence updates its wandering hours model with the sporty Vagabonde Series 4. Housed in a 43mm by 50.8mm steel case, the calibre B30 self-winding manufacture movement drives the central minutes disc and three hour satellites located inside the sapphire disc. Adding to the modern aesthetic are a rhodium-plated, frosted brass dial and cobalt blue rubber strap.

DAZZLING DEBUT

Fendi presented a high jewellery set comprising a necklace, earrings and cocktail ring at the its recent Couture Autumn/winter 22 show in Paris. Named Fendi Flavus (Latin for yellow or blonde), the one-of-a-kind suite features the inverted FF monogram designed by Karl Lagerfeld in 1965 in yellow baguette diamonds surrounded by a cascade of baguette-cut white diamonds. The key piece is a necklace festooned with over 1,000 gemstones and topped with a large, emeraldcut fancy vivid yellow diamond at its heart. Recalling a Roman fountain, the piece combines Fendi’s exquisite craftsmanship with the maison’s jewellery artistic director Delfina Delettrez’s fascination with the relationship between kinetic forms and the human body.

A NEW CHAPTER

B.P. de Silva’s debut high jewellery collection sees magnificent one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate each of its five generations spanning the brand’s 150 years. Stand-out jewels include the Grand Plush Sapphire Necklace, which honours the jeweller’s second generation. The stunning piece flaunts a rare 10.5-carat unheated emerald-cut yellow sapphire at its heart that is accentuated by 1,944 round diamonds. Commemorating the third generation are the Deco Empire Morganite Earrings featuring two oval-cut morganites that steal the spotlight.

LATEST ITERATIONS

Launched in 1968, Boucheron’s Serpent Bohème collection has transcended time to become one of the maison’s most iconic ranges with its emblematic codes of the diamond-studded droplet, honeycomb latticework and embossed gold. The new line, Serpent Bohème Solarité, now boasts statement pieces flaunting exceptional radiance. Perfect for bold fashion mavens are the oversized ear hoops, asymmetric earrings that unfold behind the ear, and the stunning necklace in white or yellow gold with diamondset drop motifs and beads of gold encircling the neck like a glistening halo.

LOVE YOURSELF

Be it a gift to reward, treat or encourage yourself, My Happy Hearts is Chopard’s latest collection of dainty jewellery that is made for wearers to acquire for themselves on a whim. The range draws from the maison’s signature design codes of the heart and dancing diamonds, featuring jewels in the new proportions. Offered in ethical rose or white gold, the charming necklaces, chain bracelets, rings and earrings all flaunt a single heart in carnelian, mother-of-pearl or diamonds. My Happy Hearts rings and earrings are also available in versions with a dancing diamond, which can be worn singly or stacked, depending on the wearer’s mood or outfit.

Deserving special mention is the D-renaissance jewellery from Dior’s Autumn/winter 22/23 ready-to-wear collection. Executed mainly in brass, the intricate creations of earrings, rings, a headband and this ornate neckpiece, pictured below, exude fine craftsmanship and finesse hardly seen in costume jewellery. Deploying haute joaillerie savoir faire, Dior artisans combine the lightness of lace with resin beads and rhinestones, which are hand-applied individually with the utmost precision.
