This upgraded blend was created based on a study by Sulwhasoo’s Heritage and Science Centre, which had explored ancient medicinal theories of skin ageing in seven-year cycles.
To create the Jaum Activator, the brand harnessed the medicinal philosophy of Donguibogam, its knowledge on the human body and its response to natural ingredients based on principles of Eastern medicine.
A total of 3,912 formulas and 1,041 herbs were analysed for their benefits on the skin. This study revealed the optimal blend of the five key ingredients that target main concerns of ageing skin. Peony and rehmannia were distilled individually, while lotus, Solomon’s Seal and white lily were extracted in a 1:1:3 combination. Together, these made up the “golden ratio” designed to achieve the skin’s full healing potential. With this upgrade in formula, the new edition of the serum features a 10 per cent increase in antioxidant properties.
The Jaum Activator was also developed using Youth Master Technology, a type of bio-technology discovered by Sulwhasoo, that fosters a healthy ecosystem within the skin. This process occurs through stimulating Early Growth Response 3 (EGR3) genes, which regulate the speed and pattern of skin ageing.
With the serum now enhanced with the Jaum Activator, the skin tissue is better able to self-regenerate for total revitalisation and gradual firming of its structures to target sagging skin and wrinkles on the surface. The complex also improves the skin’s microbiome, which allows for good bacteria to survive and protect cells from ageing and irritation.
Used right after cleansing the skin, the lightweight serum is designed to boost the absorption of subsequent products.
