Concept: PORSCHE 618 MOTORCYCLE Designer: MIGUEL ANGELBAHRI

Odds of production: DEPENDS ON WHETHER BAHRI CAN PERSUADE PORSCHE

If Porsche built a motorcycle, what would it look like? The 618 is Miguel Angel Bahri’s answer. In developing his concept – which does not involve Porsche – the Barcelona-based transportation designer drew inspiration from the automaker’s 911 Turbo, 918 Spyder hybrid sports car and 919 hybrid racecar. His all-electric road rocket features a carbonfibre-reinforced polymer chassis, a magnesium mainframe, and a 160hp interior permanent magnet motor mated to a continuously variable transmission. A 20kWh battery pack keeps the two-wheel titan charging. Bahri calls the motorcycle the 618 because in the Porsche pecking order, it would sit just below the 718 Boxster and Cayman. “Porsche was my principal source of motivation in career choice,” explains Bahri. “The way its team constantly evolves without losing themselves captivates me.” This bike captivates us. — VIJU MATHEW
