Motorcar Diamond
The sheer beauty of the iconic Jaguar E-type is that it functions as an eternal snapshot of timeless mid-century design. It launched in 1961 and quickly outpaced many of its rivals. This year, Jaguar Classic, the marque’s heritagefocused division, has created two 60thanniversary tributes that take after the pair that were originally showcased at the 1961 motor show in Geneva.
They come in the form of a gunmetal grey coupe and a racing green roadster, each with a special colour formulation that will not be seen on any other Jaguar. Each unit is equipped with a 265bhp 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine with 1961-style alloy radiator, but these engines boast of subtle modernisations such as electronic ignition, a stainless steel exhaust system and a specially developed five-speed gearbox. Other contemporary highlights include an infotainment system with satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. There are only six examples of each car and they will only be sold as a pair.
