Gérald Genta’s original design for Patek Philippe’s The Nautilus
Bidding commences on 7 March through Sotheby’s in Hong Kong
As part of the Gérald Genta: Icon of Time sale series, the Hong Kong instalment will continue to delve into the archive of exceptional designs from the visionary, who has been described as the Picasso of watches. The Swiss watch designer is credited as the man behind some of the world’s most sought-after timepieces, including Patek Philippe’s Nautilus and Grand Sonnerie (the latter comprising 1,000 parts and was the most complex wristwatch of its time). Genta’s original drawings, in the form of watercolour paintings, will each be paired with a unique NFT that features an artistic digital replica of the design and a certificate of authenticity.
