Each beautiful, Canadianmade wood paddleboard (from US$1,950) could double as wall art when it’s not exploring beyond the mothership. “We gave them a mid-centurymodern, Mad Men kind of style,” says Paul Lavoie, Beau Lake’s founder and CEO. Materials include Macassar and carbon fibre on Rapid (left), rosewood on Malibu and holly and mahogany on Muskoka. The company is also working with Canadian artist Graham Gillmore on a colourful series based on his painting Oceanic.
