Unexpected Beauty

-

With its asymmetrical curves and free-form shapes, the designs of the porcelain pieces in the Infini Kintsugi Design collection look almost random. But it’s this seeming random nature that draws from Taoism’s philosophy of constant change in life, and showcases the Kintsugi wabi-sabi aesthetic philosophy – the beauty of imperfection – best. Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of mending ceramics with gold, and each piece in this luxury tableware collection is hand-painted with ceramic material containing 12 per cent pure gold, with a glaze or matt finishing. The selection of tableware, teaware, objet d’art and more is on display on the tables of the two-Michelin starred restaurant Saint Pierre at One Fullerton.
