Bidding commences on 28 August through Sotheby’s in Singapore

For the first time in 15 years, Sotheby’s will host an auction in Singapore this month, presenting works by a selection of masters of Southeast Asian art alongside those of established and younger international artists. A 1980 oil on canvas work, Fish Market on the Beach, by Hendra Gunawan – a leading figure of Indonesia’s art scene – will likely be one of the most tantalising lots on offer, next to pieces by Vietnamese artist Le Pho and Filipino artist Fernando Amorsolo. Collectors interested in this upcoming Modern & Contemporary Art auction can attend a preview exhibition running from 25 to 27 August at Regent Singapore.
