Ondes et Merveilles de Chaumet

-

Chaumet has always paid tribute to and drawn inspiration from water in all its forms, but its latest high jewellery collection is its first that is dedicated to the sea.

From the caresses of oceanic waves to treasures of the underwater world, and even the boats that criss-cross from coast to coast, Ondes et Merveilles captures water through interplays of volumes, heights and diamond cuts. A total of 69 high jewellery creations voyage to all four corners of the world, translated by stones that bring all the nuances of the seas.

The À Fleur d’Eau necklace evokes lapping waves with a clever combination of round diamonds in undulating gold links set aside marquise diamonds over several layers, each link seemingly independent of others. Fully articulated, these links lead the eye towards a 7.18-carat pear-shaped diamond centre stone which is detachable and wearable as a diamond drop pendant.

Meanwhile, the Escales necklace illustrates the art of colour that is central to Chaumet’s signature jewellery making style. On this short necklace, a row of scintillating spinels remind one of dazzling coastlines buffeted by waves of blue sapphires and Paraiba tourmalines.

Underwater inspiration gives way to the Chasse aux Trésors brooch composed of chrysoprase coral branches dotted with a melange of coloured gemstones.
