Bulgari Eden, The Garden of Wonders

-

For its 2022 high jewellery collection, Italian jeweller Bulgari ventured deep into the heart of the Garden of Eden. Comprising over 140 masterpieces, this is the first time Bulgari has dedicated more than 30 creations to the emerald – one of its all-time favourite stones. But as with all Bulgari high jewellery collections, this year’s pieces feature stunning gemstones in large sizes and all colours of the rainbow. Meanwhile, nature is interpreted rather than emulated here, so Bulgari brings forth a ton of imagination in its designs that was brought to life by its jewellery-making savoir faire.

Naturally, the maison’s iconic Serpenti motif, a symbol of power and audacity, makes multiple appearances while showcasing inimitable jewellery crafting. In the Serpenti Spinel Embrace necklace, the snake wraps itself around a 25.70-carat drop-shaped pink spinel and in the Serpenti Ocean Treasure necklace, two snakes intermingle with a 61.30-carat drop-shaped Sri Lankan sapphire. Headlining the collection, however, is the Emerald Glory necklace which is unparalleled in its use of emeralds of such magnificence. It can be worn not just as a necklace but also as a tiara, featuring a detachable choker lined with 11 pear-shaped Colombian emeralds and a cascade of diamonds totalling over 220 carats. Utterly splendid, this breathtaking piece took Bulgari’s craftsmen over 3,000 hours to perfect.
