Old School Delights

SGTopCafes - - CENTRAL -

With school tuckshop-like interiors and the sprightly din of families and kids settling in for a meal, Old School Delights makes is easy to take a trip back to the good old days. Despite the Sunday lunch crowd, staff were quick to take orders and serve dishes. The menu sees a selection of Western and local favourites. We started our meal with their signature Laksa D’Lite, a delicious combination of thick, nonspicy coconut broth, fresh cockles and large prawns. The nasi biryani with fried chicken, featuring fragrant basmati rice and tasty fried chicken thigh, and served with a side of chilli-hot curry, papadum and achar, was another favourite. The coconut rice in the nasi lemak supreme is pretty rich, but makes a decadent canvas for the sides it came with, including sambal prawns and ikan bilis. Order the lime juice or barley to wash it all down.
