Rare and precious gemstones are the lifeblood of Vihari Jewels— no surprise, since founder and designer Vihari Poddar comes from a family of gem traders. Previous conquests include a design with a seven- carat intense pink diamond, which went under the hammer last November, and a 110- carat intense yellow diamond. Its latest collection, La Mariposa, showcases pink diamonds from Western Australia’s Argyle mine, which makes the pieces of particular interest since the mine is slated for closure in 2020.
