HONGKOU SOHO (2015)

This tower in Shanghai features a distinctive pleated facade, comprising 18mm-wide aluminium mesh panels inspired by the soft drapes of a dress. The ripple-like waves of the perforated surface plays with light and shadow, changing with the movements of the sun; inside the building, the powder-coated aluminum louvres mimic the wavy form of the pleated exterior.
