Omega celebrates the Speedmaster’s Big 6-0 with fans all over the world

The Omega Speedmaster turns 60 this year. The sporty chronograph, whose “career” took a 360-deg detour after surviving a Nasa space expedition, is easily one of the most well-known watch models now. While the Speedmaster has aided astronauts, explorers and racers, the truth is, its fan base is a varied one. That is why the Swiss watchmaker has paid tribute to them—some more prominent than the others—with a social media initiative #Speedmasterfans. The campaign features portraits of Speedmaster-wearing fans, including the likes of Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio, Japanese actor Shohei Miura and Italian chef Carlo Cracco. Owners can also join in by uploading similar snaps onto social media with the same hashtag. After all, it’s the fans who elevate the Speedmaster to what it is today.
