Jaipore by Ritu Aurora explores the art deco world, creating the perfect fusion of east and west

“This pair of earrings barely came out from the workshop before a customer snapped it up!” said Nikhil Aurora, the director of Jaipore by Ritu Aurora, referring to a pair of art deco-inspired chandelier earrings, similar to the one pictured here. He had set a shot of the earrings as his Whatsapp profile picture. An eagle-eyed Malaysian customer spotted them, and they immediately found a home. Such is the relationship between Jaipore and its customers—they trust the brand to create exceptional pieces with a high level of craftsmanship. Some would even commit to a piece upon seeing the sketch and the raw gemstones. The brand operates greatly on emotions and a killer designer instinct. The pink sapphires on the necklace pictured here, for instance, have a rich pink hue that was so beautiful that Nikhil felt he had to include them in the next collecton. Designer Dato Ritu Aurora, Nikhil’s mother, later paired them with a frame evoking geometric art deco motifs, which contrasts nicely against the organic shape of the sapphires. The art deco pieces are part of the brand’s ready-to-wear line for this season. With plans to expand into the US market soon, we surmise that these pieces will do very well indeed.
