ORBIS SINGAPORE CHARITY GALA 2018
Aviation and medical experts came together in February at the Tower Ballroom of the Shangri-la Hotel, Singapore in support of the Orbis Singapore Charity Gala 2018. The event raised funds for the international organisation’s programmes to eradicate and prevent avoidable blindness around the world. In between dinner courses, students of Lighthouse School, which provides special education for visually- and hearingimpaired children, performed touching renditions of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Tomorrow. Meanwhile, budding artist Khairul Anwar Fazlur showcased his special art technique, Playnting, a rousing combination of painting and drumming. The evening ended on a high with a lively auction where guests eagerly bidded for items including a Manchester United jersey and a framed U2 Fender electric guitar, both signed.
