STPI ANNUAL FRIENDS GALA DINNER 2018
An unusual invitation—a pair of glow-in-the-dark sunglasses— set the stage for the fun to be had at the STPI Annual Friends Gala Dinner 2018. Art collectors and friends of STPI arrived at its Robertson Quay home in their Eighties best, and were transported to the decade with details in the event decor such as an interactive screen-printing station called Billie Screen is Not My Lover. Guests also got a preview of an upcoming showcase, Fragments from a Collective Unity, by Los Angeles-based artist Aaron Curry. A pre-launch of the 15th Anniversary Collectors’ Edition artworks, made to mark the collaborations between STPI and its artists throughout the years, also took place that evening. Other highlights included performances by the artist community including Curry himself, and a live auction that raised a record-breaking $700,000 for the not-for-profit organisation. After a sumptuous dinner by bar and smokehouse Meat Smith, an exhilarated Emi Eu, STPI executive director, thanked the tight-knit community for their support and invited everyone to continue the revelry on the dance floor.
