A ROYAL CELEBRATION
The biennial Ball in Monaco by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation in Asia celebrates the charity’s achievements in educating and supporting environmental and sustainability causes
Ten years ago, the first fundraising gala dinner organised by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation that took place in Singapore set the tone for its future editions: a classy and highly exclusive soiree, which would take place once every two years, attended by the city’s most distinguished and altruistic individuals. Monaco’s reigning monarch, Prince Albert II, who founded the foundation to champion environmental protection and sustainable development, always makes it a point to attend and welcome like-minded guests. And with Singapore branch president Jacky Deromedi’s creative eye, the dinner has never failed to captivate with its decor—a ballroom transformed into the North Pole one year and filled with miniature hot-air balloons illustrating a travel theme another year. This year, the Ball in Monaco, which is presented by Marina Bay Sands, celebrates its 10th year of fundraising for the foundation in Singapore on November 9 at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom with a birthday party fit for royals. It will feature mesmerising wall projections within the ballroom, with a beautiful three-dimensional balloon-themed photo wall. For dinner, the culinary team at Adrift by David Myers has crafted an innovative menu. A live auction is also in the programme, where guests can bid for exquisite items such as an artwork by famed American artist Jeff Koons and an FP Journe timepiece. fpa2.org
