You created a special holiday collection for Guerlain this year. What was your inspiration?
I was so inspired by my trip to India, where we shot The Legend of Shalimar commercial in 2013. The collection features all the beautiful colours of India that is embodied in the Shalimar scent. Blue, gold and sapphire gemstones are everywhere in India. I said to Laurent Boillot [Guerlain president and CEO], “Why don’t we transform this into a beauty collection and not just perfume?” That’s how the collection came about. It means so much to me especially since the profits from the sale go to the Nakedheart Foundation, which I founded in 2004 to help childrenwith specialneeds.
How far have you travelled with guerlain?
Across Jaipur in India, behind the walls of Lamuralla Roja in Spain, and around China.
What has been the craziest thing you have done with the brand?
Definitely the production of the Shalimar commercial with film-maker Brunoaveillan. We shot it in just three days, when it was supposed to be done over 10. That was quite crazy; we worked very long hours but it was my decision because I had to go back to Paris. I had an event with a group of autistic children visiting Disneyland thatwas organised in advance.
What are your favourite Guerlain products?
I’m a huge fan of the Terracotta bronzing powder and highlighter. I also love the Météorites (pictured) becauseit gives the skin a beautiful glow. It’s my latest make-up essential.
