THE INAUGURAL SINGAPORE TATLER JEWELLERY ASSEMBLY
This past November, Singapore Tatler guests were treated to two days of the glitter and glamour of precious jewels at our inaugural Jewellery Assembly. Held at Sheraton Towers Singapore, the event brought together four outstanding jewellers who imparted their gem-sourcing and jewellery-making expertise to guests. For this first Jewellery Assembly, we collaborated with a quartet of homegrown brands, all of which had previously been recognised as one of the Tatler 10 Singapore’s Best Jewellers. Caratell, Jaipore by Ritu Aurora, Simone Jewels and Yuli Inc - Fine Jewellery each had their own unique tale to tell. Caratell’s Michael Koh and Achillea Teng shared anecdotes from their sourcing trips to exotic lands for rare gems, while Jaipore’s Nikhil Aurora talked about the cultural influences that guide the brand’s aesthetic. Simone Ng spoke about transforming her abstract inspirations—the latest being poetry—into physical jewellery pieces for Simone Jewels, and Yuli’s founder Jessie Foo waxed lyrical about the precious nature of gemstones—even those we deem semi-precious are, after all, the result of millions of years of geological formation.
