It was a mammoth task to dine our way through alpmhootsot :4C0R0EAOTFURES Singapore’s top restaurants—some of them twice or more. In the process, we came to fully appreciate the immense effort and work that go into the making of a top restaurant.
For the people behind the restaurants featured in this book, working in the F&B industry is more than just a job. It demands passion and commitment and incredible amounts of hard work. Yet, it often comes with lowly pay-offs that make one wonder why one is still in the business.
But for those of us on the receiving end, every iota of effort shows—in the immaculate settings we admire; in friendly, thoughtful service that makes a visit memorable; and above all, in the art on the plate.
This book is not just a roll call of the top restaurants in town; it is also a celebration of the people behind them. In the months to come, we will be getting up close and personal with the teams behind some of Singapore’s top restaurants on toprestaurants.sg. Hear their thoughts and inspirations, and find out what goes into the making of a top chef and a top restaurant.
