Make no mistake: the Peking duck is the star attraction here. Expertly carved tableside by the chefs, it’s prized for its crisp golden skin that’s then wrapped in thin pancakes with cucumber, spring onions and sweet plum sauce. Also recommende­d is the steamed egg white with hon-shimeji mushrooms. The texture is akin to silken tofu and beautifull­y balanced with the chopped fungi. Soft and chewy mee pok noodles, topped with bright pink prawns, are enlivened by the subtle addition of Italian truffle oil, tinged with ginger aromatics. There’s an extensive wine list, including many well-known brands, to complement the meal. Service fluctuates from quiet to robust, albeit friendly.
