Wan Hao is a tra­di­tional Chi­nese restau­rant that’s per­fect for din­ers who are look­ing for comfort food in a slightly more up­mar­ket en­vi­ron­ment. With nu­mer­ous items on the menu, a com­bi­na­tion of spe­cial­i­ties and “home-cooked food” makes for a won­der­fully bal­anced meal. The pork ribs in man­darin orange sauce are a delight; the ribs are coated in flour and deep­fried to per­fec­tion be­fore be­ing glazed in sweet, tangy man­darin orange sauce. Thumbs up to the soon hock cooked in Wan Hao spe­cial su­pe­rior stock, too. The 600g fish is por­tioned into two—half for deep-fry­ing and half for cooking in the stock, which gives the pot a lot of whole­some good­ness and tex­ture. The fish is pre­pared with min­i­mal sea­son­ing to al­low the nat­u­ral juices of the in­gre­di­ents to take the lead. Wine of­fer­ings are lim­ited, as teas dom­i­nate the drinks list.
