Chef de cuisine Marco Manoc­chio helms the kitchen, and has given this Ital­ian din­ing stal­wart a contempora­ry makeover. To start, the trec­cia di Bu­fala Cam­pana is a vis­ual, palat­able treat in which a ball of bur­rata cheese (braided like hair) is brought to the ta­ble and thinly sliced, be­fore it’s plated with sweet toma­toes and salty an­chovies. Meat dishes are done well here, too, as can be tasted in the tagli­ata di manzo, which is grilled to juicy per­fec­tion. Tiramisu gets an up­date as a dome­shaped creamy mas­car­pone mousse with dark choco­late shav­ings, but it’s still as ad­dic­tively good as the clas­sic ver­sion. New and old world wines by the glass and bot­tle com­ple­ment the stel­lar din­ing ex­pe­ri­ence, while the knowl­edge­able staff are un­ob­tru­sive, let­ting you en­joy the meal and soak in the scenic city views.
