Lingzhi dispels the common perception of vegetarian food being overly starchy and made of fried gluten. The new menu features the likes of crispy rice cakes with Singapore-style chilli sauce, vegetarian satay with fresh pineapple and vegetarian goose, and crispy tofu skin with pancake. The chilli sauce for the rice cakes is mildly spicy, and is similar to that used in the chilli crab at local seafood joints. The peanut sauce is well-concocted, bearing a close resemblance to that which is served with meat-based satays. Taking reference from Peking duck, the crispy tofu skin represents the meat in that dish, wrapped in regular flour pancakes.
