Na­tional Kitchen’s menu, which of­fers pre­dom­i­nantly Per­anakan cui­sine and a hand­ful of lo­cal favourites such as chicken rice and chilli crab, is a re­flec­tion of our na­tion’s gas­tro­nomic fab­ric, wo­ven over many gen­er­a­tions. Even though no pork or lard is used in the cook­ing so as to broaden the ap­peal of the restau­rant, the food de­liv­ers on most fronts, with some mod­ern in­ter­pre­ta­tions of the Nonya genre such as buah keluak tossed in pasta. The ser­vice here is pol­ished and smart, mak­ing this an ex­cel­lent venue to host for­eign vis­i­tors or for cor­po­rate en­ter­tain­ment.
